SEASON'S GREETINGS!!!!

Happy Holidays EveryCat! Thank you all for coming by and wishing us a Merry Christmas, even though Mom didn't help us visit anyone...in fact, we were left ALONE on Christmas Eve AND Christmas Day while Mom and Dad went down to the valley house to visit her family. Hey, we are family too! We were very happy when they came home, although when they took us out the next day, this is what we found! This is actually a picture from last year, but you get the drift (snow drift that is). Its been melting fast, and it has been fun as the birds have really been hitting the bird feeder, so we get to chase them. But my paws do get cold....

Mom's New Year's resolution is to help me blog more and visit my friends..... I'll believe it when I see it!

Hunting on a Meezer Monday

I'm looking, I'm looking for that big bird that Mom said was in our house a few days ago, called Tur-key. I'm worried this Tur-key bird might have a key for our house and come after me and Kavan. Mom said Tur-key would outweigh us, we wouldn't stand a chance. Well, we will see about that, I'm guarding this big gap under our fence to make sure Mr. Tur-key doesn't make it in. Mom used to worry that Kavan and I might try to get out under the fence into the open space behind us, but we just like to look. Its hard to believe today is December 1, as it is so warm and beautiful up here. Mom was home for four entire days, and took us out a few times every day! We had to wait until late in the morning, as it is very cold at night.

Sorry we missed every one on Tur-key day, we hope you all had a great one!

Meezer Mancat Monday

Well, as you have noticed, Mom has been really terrible about helping us with our blog and visiting our friends. But she told us either we can have time with her, go out of doors, get good skritches, or we can spend time on the blog. Well, its no fair we can't do both, but obviously time with her is what we really want. Now that it is dark when she gets home, we don't get to go out as much, and it is starting to get a bit cold. We haven't had that frozen white water yet in our yard, but Mom has had some going to work a few times.

We do love it up here. Dad put out our bird feeder, and we have zillions of birds! And rabbits and quail and chipmunks... although they never seem to be out of doors when we are. And there is even a mouse in the house! Mom is very upset that we haven't caught it yet... she told me if I was any kind of a mancat I'd get that mouse. Well, I'm trying Mom!

We will try to get around more often, but, well, Mom says priorities are a bit in flux right now, so we will just have to see. She really likes her new jobbie, but it is taking a lot of her time. We are lucky Dad gets to stay home with us, we really like that.

Just remember, we love you all!

'Tocktober for Derby and Frisky Fall

Today is Derby's Birthday, and the Cat Blogosphere is doing 'Tocktober for Derby! Here are my beautiful 'tocks as I am doing some final lizard hunting before fall turns to winter up here at our mountain house. I found out last winter they don't like cold too much...

I barely got an entry into the Simply Siamese Frisky Fall contest. Go check it out and vote for me!

Meezer Mancat Monday: Trouble Again

My goodness, getting to know this house without getting in trouble is exhausting! I've gotten very good at opening all the doors and cabinets. Dad thought I wouldn't be able to open the door going into the garage, as it is heavy and spring loaded. WRONG! Mom's first day at her new jobbie, and she had to stay late. Dad didn't expect her home to, like, almost midnight! So he went to get something to eat. He left through the garage, so of course I wanted to follow. I worked on that door, and finally got it open just enough to get through. I was just getting to exploring, when this terrible rumbly noise started, and the wall started moving up! There was the green machine, its eyes shinning bright, staring right at me! I froze and stared back. Then, out of it jumped Dad, he grabbed me and threw me in the green machine. He just made it back in the garage when the wall came down again! We just made it.

I got scolded as Dad went to the door to open it to get in the house. But it wouldn't turn. Dad said a bunch of words from the bad word list. He had left the house key inside the house. Somehow, as I worked the door, I managed to lock it as I went out (actually, Dad thinks Tara may have done it as she tried to come out after me, but she isn't telling). He sat down on the steps in front of the door, and said "Well, looks like we are stuck here till Mom gets home". That was like hours! I was going to starve! But Dad is like me, he is pretty cleaver, and was able to find some funny tools in the garage, and was able to pick the lock. We got in! Tara scolded me. Turns out, Mom got home around 8:30, and I acted like nothing had happened. But Dad told on me!

Finally Settling In

Kavan here.....when we woke up a week ago Wednesday, I discovered we were at the mountain house! HOW DID WE GET HERE???? I don't even remember....Tara kept saying something about aliens, green machines, and sleeping snuggled to the litter box, but I think she was hallucinating. It didn't matter, we were at the mountain house! But I just started to explore when the ALIENS CAME BACK! In that great big humongous space ship that took all of our stuff from our valley house! And then, Tara and I got imprisoned in the room above the garage. I tried and tried to break us out, but Dad somehow locked us in. But there was a great window where we could watch the aliens from down on the street. And you know what they were doing? They were bringing our stuff back! They must have been scared that me and Tara were going to go after them and give them the claws of death.

By afternoon, we were surrounded by all of our stuff, and all these boxes. And then the best part, Mom and Dad started opening them! Soon, there was all this cool, crinkly paper and empty boxes. It was so much fun! Mom kept yelling at me to get out of the way, but I didn't listen, there was just way too much cool stuff. By the end of the night, the mountain house started to feel like home. Both Tara and I slept in the bedroom with Mom and Dad and took turns on the bed. It was great.

What a long strange trip its been!

Wow, man, I must admit, a week ago yesterday (Tuesday) is like a psychedelic dream (er..nightmare). I vaguely remember Kavan and I waking up with Mom and Dad in a very bare bedroom with a strange mattress on the floor. We went downstairs, got some food, and then the door bell rang. THE ALIENS WERE BACK! I ran up to one, and sniffed his hand, and was going to protect us, but Mom imprisoned us again in the bedroom with the strange bed. Forever went by until we got let out. The aliens had taken all of our remaining stuff! But Mom and Dad seemed pretty calm, so we just chilled out.

Then it happened. I was grabbed by Mom, and the scruff of my neck pulled back, and Dad shoved this little pink pill down my throat! It happened so fast, I couldn't warn Kavan, who again was clueless. They got him next. Good thing they did me first, had I seen them doing that to Kavan, I would have been in the next county.

Then things were back to noooorrrrmalll.... hm....what is that spot on the wall, a bug? oooowwwww...the wall is moving...I can't quite walk... my legs keep crossing each other... Kavan? Kavan? You look a little funnnnyyy.... maybe I'll sit in the corner for a while.... wow...the corner is moving....what, what, we are going in the green machine...noo..no.... ah... hm....wow, look at those colors going by. Kavan, where are you, why are you snuggled against the litter box in the back seat? Are you snooring? Mom, where is your lap? Can I get in it, even if you are driving?

Oh, wow, the world is speeding by. Yes Kavan, you can share the seat with me...hmmm.... I'm getting sleepy, but I don't want to sleep... what a trip, those colors... sleepy...z....zzzzz

Where are we? All of a sudden, we were at the mountain home! I was so happy to get out of the green machine. So was Kavan! And I'm proud to say no major yaking or pooting in the green machine. We had been starved all day, and finally got some food. We all snuggled together in our mountain house bed went to sleep....what a trip!

Stay tuned. Final installment on Friday, Mom starts her new job today (Wednesday), so wont' be able to post again until Thursday night.

Tired Tuesday

A week ago today, we said good bye to our backyard, and headed to the mountain house! It actually all started a week ago yesterday. We got up as usual, only Mom wouldn't take us outside. This did not make us happy. Then, she shoved us in the PTUs! This really didn't make us happy. But both of us were very good in the car, and didn't yell or cry or anything. Mom was very proud. And then, when she stopped, she took us into the V-E-T! There were woofies and strange smells all over while we were waiting. But once in the room where they stick you, Mom took us out of the PTUs, and again, we were very good for the vet tech. We each let her take us way and weigh us. I'm 12 lbs! And Kavan is 14.2 lbs! Then, she sticked us with needles, which was OK. But when she tried to stick the temperature thing into Kavan's you know what, he would have nothing of it. So she stopped. She didn't dare try that to me.

We were again good on the way home, but when we got home, in front of the house was this humongous machine! It was huge! It must have been from outerspace, as there was this ramp thing coming out of our front door, and aliens stealing all of our stuff! Mom took us directly to the back yard, which was quiet and we liked. But I got hungry, and asked to be let in. Mom opened the slidy glass door, and there was this horrible shrieking ripping sound! I ran out the door into the back yard, to the side gate, and tried to jump the gate. Mom ran after me. But when I got the the top of the gate, I saw the aliens and stopped. Mom grabbed me. Kavan was clueless about what was going on inside. So Mom and Dad made a prison for us in Dad's office, which has a door to our bathroom. Kavan tried to break us out, but Dad did something to the door lever, so he couldn't. Then about halfway through the day, we were imprisoned in Mom and Dad's bedroom, which was completely empty! The aliens got all the stuff! Finally, the aliens left with all of their loot, and Mom let us out. The house was the same but different. Some of our furniture was still there, but some not. Mom and Dad slept on a funny mattress on the floor. But we were happy, the aliens were gone, and Mom an Dad were still there. So we all snuggled and went to sleep.

That was Monday night. Stay tuned, the trip gets wild!

The Move is on....and Remembering Roscoe

The packers show up today. I overheard Mom say she was taking me and Kavan to the V-E-T at about the same time they show up to make sure our shots are all in order. I'm looking for a box to hide in.....I'm not sure what is worse, strange people putting all of my cool stuff into boxes, or being forced into a PTU and going to the V-E-T! By the end of the week, we should be safely at our mountain house. I know we haven't been around much, and won't be this week either, but I made Mom promise we would fill you all in on how it all went. Wish us luck!

And amidst this chaos, we remember dear Roscoe....

Packing Worry and Awards

Things are getting pretty crazy around here. Kavan got worried Mom and Dad were going to leave him behind, so he decided to hide in a plastic bag to make sure he got packed away with everything else. Good thing his laser eyes gave him away, since the big "M" day is not for another two weeks. He would have been pretty hungry!

Even though Mom hasn't helped me visit all of my friends, my friends have been kind enough to give me two awards! I got this one from Luxor, and on his blogoversary no less!

The rules are...
1. Only five people (kitties) allowed.
2. Four have to be dedicated followers of your blog.
3. One has to be someone new or recently new to your blog and live in another part of the world.
4. You must link back to whoever gave you the award.

This is always so hard. I know they probably already have this award, but to the four dedicated followers, I must give it to:

Sammy and Miles
Latte
Cheysuli and Gemini
Zippy, Sadie and Speedy at Kattonic Cats

And the someone new in another part of the world goes to Castle

And I got this one from Adan!
The rules are:
1. The winner can put the logo on his/her blog
2. Link the person you received your award from
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs
4. Put links of those blogs on yours, and
5. Leave a message on the blogs that you've nominated
.

Again, I love all your blogs! So I'm simply going to punt on this one, and give it to all of you (it said at least 7, so I know there are seven of you out there!)

Happy Meezer Monday Every Kitty!

Overwhelmed Wednesday

I am so overwhelmed! Thanks so much everyone for all the fabulous birthday wishes yesterday! And I was so touched that many of you felt bad you forgot. You didn't forget, MOM FORGOT! And she forgot to put my birthday on the Cat Blogosphere list, so how could any of you know? But you all made me feel warm and soft inside. You are the best. A few of you suggested that I should have a birthday month. Now, that is an idea!

Dad tried to make it up to me, he went and bought me this new collar. What do you think?

Here is another view..

It is a lot more shimmery and shiny than the pictures show. He keeps telling me he is going to make me a diamond collar. Now, that is one pretty great Dad, especially if he follows through.

And I can't believe I won the Girlie Q category in Monty Q's contest! Thank you all who voted for me, that was the best birthday present ever! I have no idea if it was the the Full Stretch Monty or the Sultry Princess Q that got the votes, but I am so honored, it was some pretty stiff competition!

Forgotten Birthday

I am NOT HAPPY. Mom and Dad have been so busy with this move thing, that they totally FORGOT MY BIRTHDAY! And not just for a day or two, but OVER A WEEK! It was a week ago Friday, August 22. I waited, and waited, and waited for my presents, my treats, all my birthday wishes, but they never came. Today Mom tried to make it up to me, she gave me extra Temptations. Dad felt so bad he went out to find me a diamond (rhinestone) collar fitting of a princess. But he couldn't find one. But he did find me a pretty shimmery one (I'll get him to take some pictures), and promised to make me a diamond collar. Even Kavan felt sorry for me and gave me some extra snuggles.

I felt so sorry for myself, I let him lie by me. At least Kavan wished me Happy Birthday.

Meezer Mancat Toilet Training

Dad is not too happy with me. So while Mom is sorting through stuff around the house (with Tara supervising), Dad has been fixing stuff around the house, and as the meezer mancat, I've been supervising Dad. Well, one of our human litter boxes has been leaking, so Dad decided to fix it. Well, he always keeps the lid down so I don't jump into it. Well, he had to have it up to fix the leak, and I just had to see what was in there, so I jumped. Landed up to my front armpits (leg pits?) in the water. Dad was NOT happy. He took me to the laundry room sink and gave me a BATH!!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT???? I was not happy. Dad said it served me right. Well, Dad might not think I'm a cool cat, but Joey does! He gave this to me AGES ago, but since Mom can only seem to help us post once or twice a week these days, I finally got to post it. Thanks Joey, you are one cool dude yourself!

And the Cat Blogosphere is dedicating today to Not the Mama, for everything he does for all of us. Thanks Mo!

Closet crazy

Mom went a bit crazy in the closets this weekend. Something about getting them cleared out ahead of time. I had to supervise, and with my special red laser eyes, I could really see all the (junk) interesting stuff in there. This is best done up high. What was even better was playing in the the paper bags she kept stuffing all this (junk) cool stuff into. But then she hauled them outside, never to be seen again. I'm not sure why she can't do that to Kavan....

Stop and smell the flowers

Kavan is reminding me its time to stop and smell the flowers. Its good to remember the things and ones you love. We do love this back yard, and will be sad to leave it, but we are excited about moving to the mountain house. And we love Mom and Dad, so where ever they are is where we want to be. That is what is important. We think we might be up there by October. Its going to be a busy month or so, so we apologize in advance for not being around as much as we would like.

Too sad for words

Monty and Family, you are in our thoughts, and have our purrs. Find peace.

Stressed

I'm stressed. Mom and Dad keep having these intense discussions, and I keep hearing the "m" word mentioned. Mom is so distracted she hasn't been able to help me blog or visit my friends much. I think it might be to the mountain house. I like the mountain house, but I like my backyard here too! And although Mom keeps talking about this cool new jobbie, I think it means she won't get to spend as much time with us. I'm not sure about any of this.....although maybe we can leave Kavan here....

Finally Friday

Mom and Dad usually think I'm such a good girl. But I have them fooled most of the time. I egg Kavan on to do the bad stuff, get in on the action, then he gets the blame. Last night I conned Kavan into opening the door into Dad's office. We are FORBIDDEN to go in there. But there is some major cool stuff there! So Kavan started working on the door. But he is not very bright, and had to announce to the world what he was doing! So Dad went to the door just as Kavan was opening it. I heard the door open from the living room, and went running to get in. Dad just got there and yelled at Kavan, who, silly boy he is, stopped before going in and looked at Dad and said "what??". I went racing in, and Dad started yelling at me! Darn! I got in trouble instead of Kavan! I need to work on my timing....

Meezer Monday: Practicing for Monty and an Award

This Meezer Monday, I thought I 'd practice for Monty's Doin' the Q contest. I'm still working on my full Monty here.

And I have a couple of versions of the Monty Q. I only do the Q out on the green grass, I think the grass is an important part. I think this is a pretty traditional Monty Q...

This is my sultry, princess version. I can't decide which one to enter...

This is my 2006 entry. Look at how much lighter I was!

To take my mind off such a big decision, Rossetti and Kirara and Little Cat Zee and gave me (well, and Kavan too) the Arte y Pico award!

This award was created to be given to bloggers who inspire others with their creativity and their talents, also for contributing to the blogging world in whatever medium.

I am so honored! Here are the rules:

1. You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contribute to the blogger community, regardless of language.
2. Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.

3. Each award-winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award itself.
4. Award-winners and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of "Arte y Pico" blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award.

5. To show these rules.

Now I have to decide who to give it to! This is furry hard, there are so many wonderful blogs that we love. We give it to:

Castle, for carrying on in style (even though he already got it from Yao-lin)
Mr. Hendrix, as it takes creativity to keep up with Bendrix! (I think he already got it too..)
Honey P. Sunshine, a cool cat in Sack-of-tomato
Tybalt, a real Prince of Cats, and a great movie reviewer!
Princess, for also carrying on with grace and style, even in the presence of Pierro!

Meezer Mancat MEAT!

Dad was on the couch, eating these great smelling treats, they were just like Temptations! I begged, and begged, and finally, he gave me some...

Yumm! They were like chewy Temptations! Dad called them Beef Jerky, I just said, give me more!

Mom was worried they might give me an upset tummy, but I ate that Beef Jerky like a Real Mancat!

Worn out Wednesday

I have taken over Tara's bed she won in Monty's first Doin' the Q contest (don't forget, he has a second annual Doin' the Q contest going) as I wore myself out while Mom and Dad were gone Monday night. I had so much fun with every kitty who teleported over! I held a seminar on how to open drawers (easiest), cabinets (a bit harder) and full doors (the hardest, especially if you have to pull!). Tamra, Ayla, Rossetti and Kirara picked it up really fast, especially with the tutoring from Daisy and MaoMao, who are pro's themselves. Its a good thing they were there to help, as I kept getting all flustered looking at Tamra...{{swoon}}. Kilroy then took inventory of all the contents. While we were busy with the seminar, Chey, Sammy, Miles, Luxor, Adan, all the kits from Camie's kittes and Pyewacket proceeded to make sure the rest of the house looked appropriately, uh, lived in (Chey really used her teeth, giving them a workout to make the case she should keep them). When I was done with the seminar, me and Speedy proceeded to run through the house with our butts on fire, while Tara, Zippy and Sadie just watched in disgust. I was really impressed with the job Fiona and Orlando bun did on the baseboards in the family room. They would have kept going, but got sidetracked by the ficus. Tara showed Sophia where she keeps her snuggle, and they both made biscuits on it. Tara had to give teleporting instruction to Au and Target from katztales and Joey, but they made it and had a good time. Tybalt and the twins kept jumping on the waterbed (I hope I don't get blamed for any holes...). Mr. Echo hung out with us and sipped niptini's. Then it got really exciting when we heard sirens, William, thinking all of this might be illegal, called the law. But we all hid, and they couldn't see any of us, so they left. Then we all crashed. Tara had to hustle everyone out in time before Mom and Dad got home. Boy were they surprised!

Meezer Monday-Crabilated!

Humphf, some meezer monday this is! Mom and Dad are going to the mountain house for an 'pointment without us for overnight. That means I have to stay home with only Kavan! Can you believe that? They are leaving me home alone with him! And he is going to expect me to play with him and keep him company. We will see about that. Maybe I can talk him in to opening all the cabinet doors and pulling everything out for inspection. If anyone wants to teleport over and help, come on by! Kavan is also good at opening the kitchen pantry, and I'm sure there are treats we can get into.

That should teach Mom and Dad.....

Friday Fun on the Fourth!

We are staying close to home this Fourth of July. Mom and Dad might make a quick trip to the mountain house later this weekend, but we are going to stay home and play with our fun toys. We might be hiding under the bed tonight if it gets too loud, but usually it is not too bad. All you US kitties, every one be safe tonight, and have a great Fourth of July!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY U.S.A!!!

Meezer Mancat goes to McDonald's

A skill every mancat should have is the ability to sleep anywhere! I'm really tired as I had to help Dad. See, Dad often takes me along in the big green machine to go to the drive through at McDonald's. I have an important job, to tell the McDonald's guy if the order is OK. So we went to get Mom and Dad some lunch, Dad ordered a chicken McNugget meal for him, and just an order of McNuggets for Mom. But when we got to the pickup place, the McDonald's guy tried to give Dad two McNugget meals! I sat on Dad's lap, put my paws in the hole where the glass usually is, and tried to tell the McDonald's guy it was wrong, but he didn't understand me! So Dad said "My friend here says he doesn't want the fries and coke, just the chicken". He finally understood, and we got home with Mom and Dad's food OK. I like going to McDonald's with Dad, but I really need a nap when I get home!

Fearless Friday

I can't believe Kavan actually thought I was afraid of Mr. and Mrs. Magnet! And he didn't even know there were already OTHER members of the Magnet family in the house! Here I am eying the twins (I guess Mr. and Mrs. Magnet were busy).

You have to stretch to make yourself look really long to intimidate them....
Spreading out your toes helps too.....
Then reach out and give 'em a good whap...
This will make them huddle together in fear!
Red laser eyes help too! Kavan just sat there and stared at them while Dad did all the work. Me, I really showed them who is boss!

Meezer Mancat with Magic Marbles!

Dad brought home these very strange shiny marbles that are possessed! Tara is scared of them, she saw them on the floor and tried to whap one, and they suddenly jumped up and moved by themselves and stuck together! Now she will only sneak up to them. Me, I'm a mancat! I'm not scared! I'll show those aliens! Its hard to see, but Dad is actually moving those marbles without touching them using the magic wand in his hand...

Then they jumped up through the air to the magic wand! It must be from the same space ship..

Here Dad is moving one of the marbles again with the magic wand. It's a very strange shaped marble, I think it must be shaped like their space ship...

When it jumped up to the magic wand I just had to check it out!

Here Dad has both of the marbles hanging from the magic wand!

Dad said the aliens names are Magnet. They all have the same name, which I thought was strange. Maybe aliens don't use names like we do. So I just call them Mr. and Mrs. Magnet. I think the round one is Mrs. Magnet, and the space shaped one is Mr. Magnet. They seem to be happy here, as they have been napping on our carpet for days. But if I get too close and try to play with them, they always run together and huddle together like this. Maybe they are scared of me. They should be!
