Squillions on Saturday!

Mom got home! We were both so exicited, we rubbed all over her and gave her kisses. And she found a box on the dining room table. Dad had told her about it, but she told him not to let me open it until she got home. It was a box from Daisy Mae Maus, and I've been very, very curious.
Look, a hand painted Siamese squillion! Daisy Mae sent me a nice note saying I've been so good with Kavan (uh....) that she sent me this little gift. I was so excited I gave him (he looks like a him) a big kiss immediately.
Kavan also came over and said Hi.
Mom was afraid we'd break him, so she put it on the table, but I followed.
Oh, he smelled so good, I couldn't control myself, so gave his ear a big nibble
Unfortunately, I chipped the paint on his ear before Mom could rescue him. I'm sorry Daisy Mae, but I love him so much! I need to come up with a great name! He is so much calmer than Kavan, and will give me a much needed break!

Fun in Central Park

I am SOOO jealous! Latte met Mom at the 30th street station, and she was able to coax the conductor into letting him on the train for free, because, after all, he is soo cute. And everyone loves that cool harness! The hotel she was staying at allowed animals, so Latte had no problem there. And it was close to Central Park! Mom loves Central Park, it is an oasis of green in the middle of urban craziness. So she took Latte for a run.

Needless to say, he was the only cat doing the lower loop! They stopped for a break at a local street vendor.

Then they enjoyed the sights. Aren't these flowers beautiful? And Mom said they smelled wonderful! Particularly as it was raining lightly, which really brought out the fragrance.

You can really see the wet pavement here at a fountain on the park lake. Latte was very good about getting a little wet. Isn't it just beautiful?

Mom had some coworkers taking the train back to Washington, so they agreed to take Latte home. Looks like Mom and Latte had lots of fun! And Mom is coming home TODAY!!! I can't wait!!!! Dad has been feeling under the weather, so although he as been taking really good care of us, I haven't been out for a walk ALL WEEK! Those Central Park pictures are just killing me!

Walking Washington Wednesday

Mom got to go out for a walk last night along the Mt Vernon parkway. From where she was staying in Crystal City, it goes right past National Airport, and she gets to see some of the monuments across the river in DC.
But it is a very strange place. The planes come right over head, not 50 ft from where you are standing, and you can look straight down the runway! I think I would be scared, and would run and hide in the bushes! Mom said there are really interesting flying bugs in those bushes, that glow in the dark! She saw some as she was walking back! It must be like glowing bees! Can you imagine???

Mom is taking the train to New York tonight. She told me she is picking up Latte at the 30th street station to show him Central Park! I'm so jealous! But I'm glad I didn't have to go on one of those planes. I hope Latte likes trains......

Lost Tummy Tuesday

Mom's mad. She had a great picture of Kavan's tummy, but deleted it by mistake, and dirty blogger did an automatic save, so she lost it! She is very mad.

Both of us teamed up yesterday morning when Mom was getting ready to leave at o'dark-thirty. She gave us some scritches and some stinky goodness, then tried to sneak out. But we saw her and followed her. The last thing she saw when she turned around to shut the door was me stopped, standing on the entry way, and Kavan, stopped right behind me, standing on the dining room carpet, both of us giving her our best, pleading "please don't go Mom!" look. She just looked sad and closed the door, and we heard it lock. We tried! At least we have the satisfaction of knowing that our last look will stay with her the whole trip!

Meezer Monday

Kavan is wearing me out. I mean, that dude is the energizer bunny! Even when I think he is trying to snuggle, what he really wants to do is attack me! He even bit my behind once so hard it made me yelp. Mom got a bit mad over that one. I jumped up on her lap for some comfort after that one. Its nice she takes me outside, its a chance to get away from him. And I love how he jumps up and down on the big glass door crying after we've gone through it. TOO BAD!! But we do end up sharing the Gizzy quilt and the Millie bed. Both are up on the balcony overlooking the family room. We usually trade off on who gets what. Sigh, I guess that is OK. But I'm worried because Mom is going to be gone all week. Kavan has turned into a Daddy's boy, I hope Dad feels sorry for me......

Finally Friday

Sorry I haven't been around in a few days, Mom's been very busy at work and hasn't had time to help me blog. So I've spent the time getting to know Kavan better. We've been having a pretty good time, though Mom is tired up picking up the mail every time we rearrange it. We should be around this weekend. Then Mom is gone back east to Washington DC and New York next week, so I got to get a LOT of attention this weekend!

Tickled Tuesday

So Mom is really tickled. Kavan and I passed a major milestone yesterday. Mom and Dad left BOTH of us out in the house together when they went to work! This happened exactly three weeks to the day that Kavan came home. I was a little peeved, after three days of constant Kavan, I was looking forward to him going back into his nursery so I could get some peace and quiet, but alas, it was not to be. I must admit the company was nice, and he helped me rearrange the mail before Mom and Dad got home, as well as put some jingle balls in strategic walking places. Mom and Dad didn't seem to mind, they were just glad to come home and find the house hadn't burned down and there wasn't a lifeless furball on the rug. So Mom took me outside as a reward. But I guess thats it. No more nursery, no more space. Sigh.

Meezer Monday

So, I hate to show more pictures of Kavan, but Mom hasn't been taking too many of me lately. I'm going to have to talk to her. However, I must admit, Kavan may turn out to be useful. He is working on his computer skills, and if he gets good enough, we will really be able to direct Mom concerning what to put on our blog.

He looks like he is developing a bit of royal catitude, don't you think? If you look closely, you will see Kavan's new Catster page that he helped Mom put together on the computer. This is the photo on the screen.

I'm sure some of you noticed that I said "our blog". Mom sat me down and had a long talk with me and said I was going to have to share my blog with Kavan. She doesn't have time to help with two blogs. It can still be named after me for now, but its going to be "our" blog.

Sigh, I don't really have anything that is just "mine" anymore, except my harness. Mom promised she would always take me out for walks, and that can be our time together. That makes me feel a little better. I do have to admit, Kavan's starting to grow on me, and we are having some fun. Think of the trouble we can get into together!!

Sleepy Sunday Morning

We are getting there.....

Mom says thanks for the well wishes, she is feeling better today. Too bad she has to go back into one of those flying germ buckets again week after next!

Update: Mom got mad at me for being so absorbed with what Kavan is doing I forgot to wish my wonderful Dad a HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!! He is wonderful, he loves both of us, takes care of us when Mom is gone, plays with us, and gives us food and Temptations! He even takes me outside in my harness when Mom is gone. And when Kavan and I were snoozing together, it made him very happy. We love him very much!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DAD, SORRY WE FORGOT!!

Mom's got a cold

Mom's home today with a cold. While I'm glad I get to be with her today, it means Kavan won't get locked up in his nursery. That means three whole days with no respite. Mom tells me its practice for when he won't need the nursery any more. Hmmm... not too sure about that. Well, we will both work on making her feel better today.

Thursday Thirteen: 13 things I did to Kavan

Thirteen things I did to Kavan this week.

1. Ate his crunchies
2. Ate his stinky goodness
3. Drank his water
4. Used his liter box
5. Slept in his room on MY snuggle
6. Teased him though the glass door when I got to go outside and he didn't
7. Ignored him
8. Chased him into the tunnel
9. Wrasseled him onto the floor
10. Mouthed him when in a bear hug
11. Chased him up the stairs
12. Used the scratching post in front of him to show him who owns it
13. Felt superior when he had to go into his nursery during the day, and I got the rest of the house

All in all, it was pretty fun.

Tough Guy Tuesday

I have new found respect for Kavan. He was suppose to get his final vaccination today, but because he was still coughing and sneezing, the V-E-T decided to wait. So first, Kavan got out of going to the V-E-T due to his sneeze! That by itself impressed me! Mom talked to the technician over the phone, and they decided to give him antibiotics. The liquid type I guess someone is suppose to shoot in your mouth. Yuck! When Mom and Dad got home from work, Dad sat Kavan in his lap and pried open his mouth, then Mom took the dropper and..squeeze, into Kavan's mouth, then YEEEEE a claw through the thumb, another across the back of the hand, and Kavan split for the next county (well, the next room anyway). Dad looked like a pin cushion! Kavan drew good blood! I was very, very impressed. Mom and Dad did manage to get all the antibiotic into Kavan, but they are suppose to do this twice a day for the next week or so. Dad won't have any blood left! Too bad I let Mom read the comments from Sammy and Miles, they plan to wrap Kavan up like a burrito tomorrow morning to try again. Not very dignified if you ask me, but should be fun to watch.

Meezer Monday

That red dot really had us going for a while. I'm not too sure yet about playing with Kavan, he such a toy hog! Every time I get to play with the feather wand or the orange feather toy or the tube, Kavan just butts right in. I usually get a bit disgusted and walk off, but sometimes I reward Kavan with my presence and play. The red dot is just too fun! But later tonight, I was playing with a big rubber band, and Kavan butted in as usual. I played with him for a bit, but then he just wouldn't back off and I reached my limit, so whack!!, let him have it. Mom worries a bit when I do this, cause Kavan is the same size as my toy coyote, and sometimes I look like I'm going for the throat. So far I haven't hurt him, its been more of a soft peck.

I also do that when Kavan comes and tries to snuggle. Right now, I'm maintaining my royal hautiness. As a princess, I'm just not much of a snuggle cat, so I may never like snuggling with Kavan. Its a little sad, because he wants to snuggle so much. Mom hopes we can become snuggle buddies. Well, we will just have to see.

Sleepy Sunday Morning

Mom got home Friday night and we were all waiting up for her! We were all so happy! I rubbed all over her, and she picked me up and put me over her shoulder (my favorite scritch spot), and I got lots of love. Kavan got in her lap, and he purred and purred. Then, all of us went to bed! It was a first. Dad had been letting Kavan stay out at night and slept with him on the couch. One night, Dad tried having us both in bed, but it didn't work too well. Kavan kept trying to snuggle with me, and I wasn't quite ready for that. But Friday night it was Mom and Dad, me at Mom's feet, and Kavan at Mom's head. I slept there about 1/2 the night, then I went and slept on the snuggle in Kavan's room. But all in all, a great night. Kavan got up with Dad, and I went in and slept in with Mom.

We snuggled and played all day Saturday. Mom was pretty worn out, so she didn't want to do much. She took me out in my harness TWICE! And once we took Kavan out with us. I tried to show him how to walk with the harness. At first he didn't like it, but towards the end he was starting to get the hang of it.

We got worn out, and fell asleep pretty close. So far, this is the closest I've slept with Kavan. He did try to snuggle, I just gently kept him at paws length, so he went back into his tube. So far its been a great weekend!

Too much Friday Fun....

Oh, I remember the days when I could play and play, and then just, plop, anywhere I happen to be at the time, just fall asleep. So carefree....

I'm a bit more discriminating now. But I do like my naps, especially on the bed with Mom. I miss her so much. She was in the talking box last night. I was on the dinning room table guarding the mail (an important job), and Dad brought the box over and let her talk to me. I started crying, and purring, and rolling around on the table. I just KNEW she was going to come out of that box. But she never did. Then she talked to Kavan over on the couch with Dad, and he did the same thing. Maybe if both of us wish hard enough, she will come out of that box.

I sure can't wait to see her. She should be home late tonight. I'm waiting up....

Thursday Thirteen: Random Facts about Kavan

Fiona and Ali tagged Kavan for the seven random facts meme! He was really excited, and wanted to do it himself, but since he is still pretty young (about 13 1/2 weeks) and hasn't yet learned to blog, he asked me to help him, and I reluctantly agreed. And since it is Thursday, I thought I'd do thirteen facts, so you can get to know him.

The rules: Each player starts with seven random facts about herself. Cats who are tagged need to write on their own diary about the seven things and the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment/pawmail that they have been tagged and to read your diary/blog.

So Kavan is off to a good start, he is already breaking the rules!

1. He was born on March 4, 2007, almost 4 months to the day after my gotcha day, and 7 months after I was born.

2. He came from the same breeder as me, but different parents.

3. He is a Seal point Siamese.

4. He is more of a wedgehead Siamese than I am.

5. At 12 weeks and 5 days, he weighted 3.2 pounds, almost exactly what I weighed at that age.

6. He has had a sneeze and a bit of a wheeze since his second round of shots, which he got about 2 1/2 weeks ago at 11 weeks of age. The V-E-T thought it was likely related to the shots, and he should shake it. He goes back to the V-E-T next Monday to get checked and get his last shots.

7. He has almost no meow, just a squeak (unlike me, who will talk your head off). That might be related to the sneeze.

8. But like me, he has a BIG PURR!

9. He is much more of a lap and stroke junky than me, and loves to sleep in your face.

10. Just like me at that age, he loves to sleep in Mom's chair.

11. He is not nearly as food picky as I am, and keeps trying to steal my food!

12. And although he has two litter boxes to himself (upstairs and down), he insists on using mine as well.

13. He thinks he is as big as I am, but a quick swat usually cuts him down to size.

Now he is going to break another rule, cause I don't think there is any one left to tag! So if you want to play, Kavan tags you!

Tummy Tuesday

No shame. Only a kitten could be so oblivious.

Dad came home from work the usual time today. I met him at the door, and waited for Mom to follow. But no Mom. I cried and cried at the door, and rolled around on the floor, thinking maybe if I tried hard enough, I could make her come through the door, even though she told me she was going to be gone. So Dad gave me some nice love. Since Mom wasn't around, I decided to spend some time with Kavan, so ran upstairs to have Dad let him out of his room. So we had a pretty good round of play. Dad seemed pretty pleased. But I do miss Mom.

And she is having major internet connection problems in her hotel, so won't be able to help me make the rounds to comment much. And tonight, her plane got canceled out of Chicago, and she had to drive to Madison, getting in way too late, and then her high speed connection wouldn't work! I told her to go to bed.....

Meezer Movie Monday: Tara's Tower

When we were up at our mountain house, back when I was still a happy go lucky only princess, Mom and Dad's friend Jan gave me this cool tent tower! Jan and Jim live down the other side of the mountain from our mountain house, and have vishus deer in their yard! Luckily, she was able to escape from them and visit us and give me this cool tent tower. Mom and Dad haven't put it up yet here at home, which is probably just as well, Kavan would just take it over.

I'm pretty worried. Mom is going to be gone all week, leaving me home alone with Dad. Dad isn't as patient with me with Kavan as Mom is. We are coming along, but I still need my space. I've gotten to the point when he greats and rubs me, I tolerate it, but don't reciprocate. Uusally I walk away. I think Kavan is pushing the relationship a bit. I hope the week goes OK.

Mom told me I was going to have to post some pictures of Kavan while she is gone. I guess I will just to get him out of my face.

PhotoHunt: Art

This weeks PhotoHunt is Art. This is a Gizzy Quilt. Its a cat quilt hand made by Darling Millie's Mom. Its named after a wonderful cat named Gizzy who went to the bridge a little while back. Millie's mom takes special care to make the quilt to match the kitty. I love purple (the color of royalty), and the blue sets off my furs wonderfully. It is a real work of art.

But I can't decide if I want to be on top of it, or under it!

Friday Fun with Kavan

So meet Kavan, "the handsome one". Humpf. So he is cute. What of it? I'm gorgeous! I've been trying to play with him, but he is so "in your face", and he keeps taking over my toys!

This is my favorite tube, and my favorite feather toy!

And he has no shame, look at that mouth!

By the end of the night, I was getting a little rough, cause he kept coming after me, chasing me, and acting tough! I'd finally had enough, and was going to really let him have it, when Mom gave him a time out. Finally! Sometime to myself! Just to prove I didn't kill him, checkout the video. That's Mom giggling in the background

I hope I survive this!
