Tough Guy Tuesday

I have new found respect for Kavan. He was suppose to get his final vaccination today, but because he was still coughing and sneezing, the V-E-T decided to wait. So first, Kavan got out of going to the V-E-T due to his sneeze! That by itself impressed me! Mom talked to the technician over the phone, and they decided to give him antibiotics. The liquid type I guess someone is suppose to shoot in your mouth. Yuck! When Mom and Dad got home from work, Dad sat Kavan in his lap and pried open his mouth, then Mom took the dropper and..squeeze, into Kavan's mouth, then YEEEEE a claw through the thumb, another across the back of the hand, and Kavan split for the next county (well, the next room anyway). Dad looked like a pin cushion! Kavan drew good blood! I was very, very impressed. Mom and Dad did manage to get all the antibiotic into Kavan, but they are suppose to do this twice a day for the next week or so. Dad won't have any blood left! Too bad I let Mom read the comments from Sammy and Miles, they plan to wrap Kavan up like a burrito tomorrow morning to try again. Not very dignified if you ask me, but should be fun to watch.

Kavan is really feisty! I just realized I haven't been around to see you in almost a week. Sorry, but I did read all the posts I had missed to catch up. It sounds like you and Kavan are going to be great friends in time. I enjoyed reading the 13 things about him and I'm impressed that he got the hang of walking in a harness so quickly. I'll try to come around more often.

Burrito cat, I hate that when it happens!

Kavan was naughty! Wrapping him in a towel or blanket will definitely help to ensure that all the antibiotic gets in him.

Tee hee. Kavan is wild! When Maw has to give meds to a poodin and Paw isn't around, she sticks the poodin between her knees on the floor and kinda pins the poodin down with her hiney. (She doesn't actually sit on them). Then she can pry open their mouth and shoot the pill in or squirt the liquid in the side of the mouth. Except for G.T. Nothing works with G.T.
Do you guys have a pill shooter for giving pills? They are the best invention!!!

Hehe you go Kavan!!! I never learned how to fight that stuff and Meowmy just lays me on my back on her knees while she's sitting down. But she's really super fast and is done in 2 seconds so its not too bad. I hope he's feeling better soon, kittens are so delicate.

snigger, that Kavan is a ManCat in the making for sure! Be sure to take all your meds tho buddy (feel free to make it hard on your beans) so you can get all better. Sneezing is no fun!

PS The towel trick stinks because it works!

Oh no, don't give my Mom any ideas. I hate medicine, flea control, pills, etc. I'm gonna watch for that towel trick and then I'm gonna run. Great job of getting away Kavan.
Hi 5 paw,
Tigger

Oh poor baby, is he doing better? Medicine is no fun. Blood, you said, I faint at the site of blood.

Verrry nice to meet you, yourrr highness. My bean, Cat Chat Girl, used to have two Siamese Furrrends. One was a Seal Point she saved from the SPCA--she loved herrr verrry much, but only had 4 yearrrs with herrr beforre she went to the brrridge. The otherrr was a blue point mancat named Hyden--he was an SPCA cat also and what a charrracterrr he was. Sadly, he picked a fight with a wild coyote at his countrrry home and lost. He was all cattitude.

I forrrgot to tell you why they call me Lord Jaders and not Lady Jaders. The man bean that lives with CCG is the Master of the Universe--and he came up with the nickname of Lord Jaders because it sounded like Lord Vador of Starrr Warrrs (Darth Vador is called this,Lord Vador, by his suborrrdinates). Purrrhaps, it matches my prrrowess at masterrring my own univerrrse and controlling the wooferrrs I live with. Howeverrr, I am verrry gentle with my beans.

Er...my mom's been known to wear leather work gloves when dispensing medications. Not with me, mind you--I'm just saying.

Wow! Sounds like he did a great job! I did that a couple of times to my Meowm....I try not to do it so much now!!

Kavan sounds like he's going to grow up into quite the mancat!!!

Good going, Kavan, for such a little guy. I'm the same way. Since I've become more of an indoor kitty in my senior years, I've had to suffer the indignity of pawdicures. Mom has learned that I am like a falcon and she essentially put a towel hood on me so I don't bite when my claws are clipped. Oh, and I have extra claws too.

We're furry impressed by Kavan. It took me years to master drawing blood during administration of medication.

Good for him!
That burrito trick is one nasty human invention!
But you should tell him that sometimes it is better to swallow what they give you because it does make you better!
