Walking Washington Wednesday

Mom got to go out for a walk last night along the Mt Vernon parkway. From where she was staying in Crystal City, it goes right past National Airport, and she gets to see some of the monuments across the river in DC.
But it is a very strange place. The planes come right over head, not 50 ft from where you are standing, and you can look straight down the runway! I think I would be scared, and would run and hide in the bushes! Mom said there are really interesting flying bugs in those bushes, that glow in the dark! She saw some as she was walking back! It must be like glowing bees! Can you imagine???

Mom is taking the train to New York tonight. She told me she is picking up Latte at the 30th street station to show him Central Park! I'm so jealous! But I'm glad I didn't have to go on one of those planes. I hope Latte likes trains......

Washington is beautiful. Mommy's been there a few times and she loved it. I wouldn't love having to take the plane to get there so I think I'll stay here and enjoy it through your Mommy's pictures.

Guess what? Mommy and Daddy are supposed to go get the meezer kitten on Saturday!

wow! that's near where my mom is from. She grew up in Fairfax. She and daddy go there to that park to watch the airplanes a lot. And I mean, A LOT. Dad loves it there. I don't think I would like it AT ALL.

Can't wait to see photos from New York. Mom used to drive up to New York all the time just for fun. She doesn't know where all the good cat clothes stores are though back there because that was before she had us.

Purrs, Kat3 (and Sara and Bogdan, too)

our Lady really misses the glowing bugs. she says she wishes there were some out here. actually, we do too. they sound cool! we live across the street from a small airport, so we get planes flying low over us like that too, but much smaller ones. we've never seen a train though. it sounds exciting!

That looks like a scary place for cats! I hope there are no vishus deeers there!

I hope your mom comes home soon. I can't believe she could still leave after you both gave her THAT look! My OTW almost cries when we give her that look.

Tara, our mom thinks that Gravelly Point is a scary place where it looks like the planes are going to come right at you. And it's so LOUD! Not a good place for kitties. The Mount Vernon bike path is a great place, but Mom finds it too popular and crowded now. The GW Parkway is a beautiful drive, and Mom and Dad love Old Town Alexandria. It even bills itself as the "Fun Side of the Potomac."

We're glad that your mom is safely with you and Kavan now.
