Just checking in...

Well, I thought I would see if this blog was still active.  I can't believe I'm already 8 year old! I was only about 6 months old when Mom helped me start this blog.  How time flys!

And yes, Kavan is as irritating as ever!

I'm so sorry to hear about the http://thecatsp.blogspot.com/.  Latte was so special to me, and was the reason I started blogging.  When Chey and Latte got married, they adopted me.  Now I'm grown, and have moved on, but I have a special place in my heart for Chey, Latte, Kaze, the Lap Lady and everyone else at Cat's P.  I know life moves on, but it can be hard....

I'm serious....

OK, Kimo, now I'm getting serious. First, I'm very, very glad you are home. We were all SO worried. But, this just can't happen again. None of us are young kittens any more, and the stress was just a bit much. You may have enjoyed your walk about, but we didn't! So, to make up for it, you better tell us about all of your adventures on your blog. I will be watching.....

Looking for Kimo

Kavan and I are keeping our eyes out for Kimo. Maybe he decided to go on a road trip. If so, we want to make sure he made it over the Sierra safely. We have some stinky goodness waiting for him. We are keeping our paws crossed that he is safe.

Hi every cat! Just checking in, thanks for the birthday wishes and not forgetting me. I just celebrated my 5th gotcha day last week, hard to believe.

I'm very worried about Kimo, he went missing today. Please send him and his mommykitty and daddykitty and Sabin all of your purrs.

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!!

It's my birthday! I'm THREE!!! Don't you think I'm a handsome mancat? I'm fighting weight, so I should get extra treats from Mom (unlike Tara). Here I'm doing my best Hugh Heifcat pose. Lady cats, don't fight, there is enough of me to go around....

Squillion's Day!

This is my 'ramic squillion. His name is Chip.

He is a Siamese, just like me! Daisy Mae Maus sent him to me way back in June 2007 right after Kavan came to live with us. It was so nice of Daisy Mae to try to make me feel better. See the chip on the right ear? I was so excited, I gave him a love nibble. You can see me giving him the love nibble in my original post here. Daisy Mae gave him his name, appropriate, don't you think?

My virtual squillion is Regal. I adopted him from the Cat Blogosphere Shelter of Virtual Squillions.

I adopted a virtual Squillion from the Cat Blogosphere!

I call him Regal because he is purple, and purple is the color of royalty. That is why my blog is purple (well, purplish pink anyway). And why Chip has a purple ribbon.

I love my squillions!

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful for all my friends, who, unlike my mom,

DID NOT FORGET MY BIRTHDAY!!!

It was way back on August 22. I turned THREE. I can't believe I'm three already..

hey lardbutt...you are now three and a HALF!

Shut up Kavan. Just because your birthday is next Wednesday (March 3), and it looks like no one will forget yours.....

And I'll get extra treats, unlike you...tubby tara, tubby tara.....

Almost a Year!!

I can't believe it has been almost a year since I last posted! I should be really mad at Mom for not helping me post and visit all of my friends. But she hasn't had a very good time at the new job for the past year and a half or so. That should change in March, so hopefully I can come back! I probably still won't post as often as I used to, but at least I should be around again!

New pictures to come. Mom says I'm getting fat. Dad says I'm getting "pleasantly plump". I like getting strokes when I eat my crunchies, so I'm always leading mom and dad to the crunchie bowl for "crunchy strokes". It helps me get away from Kavan......

Tummy Tuesday

Sometimes the fire in the fire box gets a bit hot. I love to lie by it, but sometimes I need to cool off (hot mancat, you know...). Our window boxes have nice big ledges to lie on. This one is even low to the ground, so I can watch Mom and Dad inside, the the birds outside. And of course show off my mancat tummy. Tara says I look like a baby seal on the ice, and if I'm not careful, I'm going to get clubbed. We will see about that! Even Mom calls me baby seal on the ice! Humpf...I don't think baby seals have mancat claws....

Meezer Mancat Monday Returns!

Tara and I went to Billy Sweetfeets party on Saturday. Boy it was fun! We got to see many of our furriends we haven't seen in like forever! I got to walk on the ceiling with Billy and Simon. Tara made a fool of herself, she had too much to drink, and even called Tipper a mancat! I made her slow down, and she was able to join all of us in the Meezer 500! There was so much rediwhip we slid around in that we couldn't tell who won! I decided I had to come home and work out with my tube, to be ready for the next party. Tara came home and slept it off.....

Furlough Friday

Hi EveryCat! Thanks for not forgetting us! Mom has not been very good, obviously, at keeping her New Year's resolution. But I guess we forgive her. We love it up here at our mountain house. Its been a pretty mild winter, so we get to go out a lot, and there hasn't been much snow. Mom says we won't have any water to drink this summer, but hey, that is a long ways away! Mom drives up to the big lake every day for work. But this month she got two extra Friday's off. We loved that, although Mom grumbled something about not having enough green papers to buy our crunchies. But at least for now we have some. Dad is home every day with us, and takes us out and pampers us. Life is good!

SEASON'S GREETINGS!!!!

Happy Holidays EveryCat! Thank you all for coming by and wishing us a Merry Christmas, even though Mom didn't help us visit anyone...in fact, we were left ALONE on Christmas Eve AND Christmas Day while Mom and Dad went down to the valley house to visit her family. Hey, we are family too! We were very happy when they came home, although when they took us out the next day, this is what we found! This is actually a picture from last year, but you get the drift (snow drift that is). Its been melting fast, and it has been fun as the birds have really been hitting the bird feeder, so we get to chase them. But my paws do get cold....

Mom's New Year's resolution is to help me blog more and visit my friends..... I'll believe it when I see it!

Hunting on a Meezer Monday

I'm looking, I'm looking for that big bird that Mom said was in our house a few days ago, called Tur-key. I'm worried this Tur-key bird might have a key for our house and come after me and Kavan. Mom said Tur-key would outweigh us, we wouldn't stand a chance. Well, we will see about that, I'm guarding this big gap under our fence to make sure Mr. Tur-key doesn't make it in. Mom used to worry that Kavan and I might try to get out under the fence into the open space behind us, but we just like to look. Its hard to believe today is December 1, as it is so warm and beautiful up here. Mom was home for four entire days, and took us out a few times every day! We had to wait until late in the morning, as it is very cold at night.

Sorry we missed every one on Tur-key day, we hope you all had a great one!

Meezer Mancat Monday

Well, as you have noticed, Mom has been really terrible about helping us with our blog and visiting our friends. But she told us either we can have time with her, go out of doors, get good skritches, or we can spend time on the blog. Well, its no fair we can't do both, but obviously time with her is what we really want. Now that it is dark when she gets home, we don't get to go out as much, and it is starting to get a bit cold. We haven't had that frozen white water yet in our yard, but Mom has had some going to work a few times.

We do love it up here. Dad put out our bird feeder, and we have zillions of birds! And rabbits and quail and chipmunks... although they never seem to be out of doors when we are. And there is even a mouse in the house! Mom is very upset that we haven't caught it yet... she told me if I was any kind of a mancat I'd get that mouse. Well, I'm trying Mom!

We will try to get around more often, but, well, Mom says priorities are a bit in flux right now, so we will just have to see. She really likes her new jobbie, but it is taking a lot of her time. We are lucky Dad gets to stay home with us, we really like that.

Just remember, we love you all!

'Tocktober for Derby and Frisky Fall

Today is Derby's Birthday, and the Cat Blogosphere is doing 'Tocktober for Derby! Here are my beautiful 'tocks as I am doing some final lizard hunting before fall turns to winter up here at our mountain house. I found out last winter they don't like cold too much...

I barely got an entry into the Simply Siamese Frisky Fall contest. Go check it out and vote for me!

Meezer Mancat Monday: Trouble Again

My goodness, getting to know this house without getting in trouble is exhausting! I've gotten very good at opening all the doors and cabinets. Dad thought I wouldn't be able to open the door going into the garage, as it is heavy and spring loaded. WRONG! Mom's first day at her new jobbie, and she had to stay late. Dad didn't expect her home to, like, almost midnight! So he went to get something to eat. He left through the garage, so of course I wanted to follow. I worked on that door, and finally got it open just enough to get through. I was just getting to exploring, when this terrible rumbly noise started, and the wall started moving up! There was the green machine, its eyes shinning bright, staring right at me! I froze and stared back. Then, out of it jumped Dad, he grabbed me and threw me in the green machine. He just made it back in the garage when the wall came down again! We just made it.

I got scolded as Dad went to the door to open it to get in the house. But it wouldn't turn. Dad said a bunch of words from the bad word list. He had left the house key inside the house. Somehow, as I worked the door, I managed to lock it as I went out (actually, Dad thinks Tara may have done it as she tried to come out after me, but she isn't telling). He sat down on the steps in front of the door, and said "Well, looks like we are stuck here till Mom gets home". That was like hours! I was going to starve! But Dad is like me, he is pretty cleaver, and was able to find some funny tools in the garage, and was able to pick the lock. We got in! Tara scolded me. Turns out, Mom got home around 8:30, and I acted like nothing had happened. But Dad told on me!

Finally Settling In

Kavan here.....when we woke up a week ago Wednesday, I discovered we were at the mountain house! HOW DID WE GET HERE???? I don't even remember....Tara kept saying something about aliens, green machines, and sleeping snuggled to the litter box, but I think she was hallucinating. It didn't matter, we were at the mountain house! But I just started to explore when the ALIENS CAME BACK! In that great big humongous space ship that took all of our stuff from our valley house! And then, Tara and I got imprisoned in the room above the garage. I tried and tried to break us out, but Dad somehow locked us in. But there was a great window where we could watch the aliens from down on the street. And you know what they were doing? They were bringing our stuff back! They must have been scared that me and Tara were going to go after them and give them the claws of death.

By afternoon, we were surrounded by all of our stuff, and all these boxes. And then the best part, Mom and Dad started opening them! Soon, there was all this cool, crinkly paper and empty boxes. It was so much fun! Mom kept yelling at me to get out of the way, but I didn't listen, there was just way too much cool stuff. By the end of the night, the mountain house started to feel like home. Both Tara and I slept in the bedroom with Mom and Dad and took turns on the bed. It was great.
