Mighty Meezer Monday!

I think all of us kitties have been educated on the dangers of vishus deer, thanks to Rocky, Mao and Skeezix. But I'm here to warn all kitties about an equal danger lurking in the great outside, CECs!!! (Cat-Eating Coyotes!) Mom tells me that although there are vishus deer near our mountain house, they tend to keep their distance (probably cause they know I'm protecting the house). It is true, vishus deer actually kill or harm more beans than CECs. But CECs are a real hazard to us kitties, especially if we go outside alone. The last time I was up at our mountain house, I actually HEARD the kitty-blood curdling scream of a CEC in the open space right behind our house! I hid under the bed. But now that I've gotten older and tougher (hunting spiders and bees and all), I think I could protect our mountain house from CECs. So I've been practicing. This is a stuffed CEC (Mom says its not full size), but I can really take it on. If you biggify the picture, you can see my teeth!

I've really been practicing, cause we are going to our mountain house this coming weekend! Mom says the Monday is Presidents day (is there a Kitties day?), and her and Dad are taking Friday off. I'm so excited! I love our mountain house, and Mom says if the weather is nice, she will take me out in my harness! Then I can really take on the CECs! So, I'm working on getting in shape. Mom put together this little video of me working on my CEC-attack technique. Its not the best quality, because its a lot of little 20 second videos taken from her flashy box that she then stuck together. But it does show me attacking! Note the technique, you really gotta get 'um right at the jugular, and good rabbit kicking is essential.

However, Mom says live CECs are much bigger, and could swallow me in a single gulp! So I need to at least work on ways to protect myself. All kitties, beware! Mom says the best protection is to AVOID CECs at all cost. This is probably good advice, but I want to be doubly prepared.

Wow, Tara, you are quite the hunter. A natural born hunter, but aren't all cats.

Yes, be very careful about the coyotes. Those are very common around our house because we live on the edge of the city. They frequently attack kitties.

But I love your fighting technique, simple fascinating.

Oh my, those CECs sound scary! I'm glad you are only allowed out on your harness.

Great job fighting that stuffed coyote! I really enjoyed the video. :) You have great hunting technique. My mom says you are an adorable Meezer, almost as cute as me!

We live in the mountains, and we have the bad CEC around a lot. We hear them howling at night and see them, skinny and scary walking along the shore of the pond. Momma says they are worse than vishus deer. Be careful if you go outside. Momma won't let us outside, except for Mistrie and she is, what Momma calls, Coyote Wise.

Yes, please be very careful. We lost a friend to a wily coyote a few months ago. Very sad. Sniff. You sure look like you could kick their butts (great moves!), but please be careful anyway! XO

You have really good technique in attacking that stuffed coyote. Be very careful of the real ones, though. They really do eat kitties. We have them around here and they come right into town, looking for a meal.

Tara, come to our blog! You've won our 100th post contest!

Tara, while your fighting skills look topnotch, we hope you don't go prowling around alone at your mountain house because we've heard that those CECs are for real. Be very careful.
