Spotty Sunday: Mountain spots

It was a gorgeous day here at our Mountain house. Mom went for a run, and I got to go outside in the backyard. Mom is trying to let our backyard go "back to nature" and look like the open space behind our fense. So we have these stepping stones that look like spots through the backyard.

Mom usually doesn't like to take the flashy box when she runs cause she doesn't like to stop (I don't understand this, as there are so many things to stop and sniff!), but I begged her to so I could have some pictures. Her pictures remined me of spotty things.

This is the open space Mom ran through. The bushes are spotty throughout the open space.

These are the ponds near our house. Mom says they are "constructed wetlands" meaning they use reclaimed water. The birds are spotty on the water (oh I'd love to get to those birds!). It got to almost 60 degrees here today, but it isn't always this nice the time of year. Last year Mom said it looked like this (I wasn't here yet).....

Here the pond is spotty with little icebergs!

This pond has spotty vegetation all around it, but no birds.

This is the open space right behind our house. Mom and I see this hawk hunting through the glass all the time. Mom was able to walk almost right up to it with her flashy box!

All in all, a great day!

Beautiful photos! :) You are very lucky to have a mountain house!

My humans don't like to bring the flashy box with them when they run either. Silly humans.

Thanks for sharing the great photos. :)

Oh Tara, I am in awe! The scenery there is breathtaking. My Mommie takes the flashy box with her only when I go in my stroller since there is a special tray it can go in.

ps: I like the hawk. He is cute.

Our mountain house is in Minden, Nevada. Mom used to live in Utah near Salt Lake, so she said it does look like that. Its all part of a place called the Great Basin. Mom says there is a big lake up in the mountains we look at through our glass, named Tahoe. Takes about 25 minutes to get there from here, and there is a place where humans slide down the mountain with boards on their feet. I don't think I'll try it. Tara

Hawks do eat little kitties, but Mom says I'm big enough now the little open space hawk can't get me. But we have golden and bald eagles, and they could, so I still only go out just with Mom in my harness. Tara

Oh, we love your mountains! All we have here in Indiana is flat, flat, flat. And some corn. And snow. And the only Great Basin we have is in the bathroom.

Hi Tara! Mommy went away for a while so I missed your traveling. Great new outfits and the bunny sounds fun! It sounds like you're having a wonderful time. Did you hear any CECs this time???
Enjoy those walks! My mommy is more a walker than a runner, but your mountain place looks so fun she'd be out there in a minute.

What a lovely place! Our Mom just loves the mountains. Thanks for sharing.

We're sorry to report that the weather in our area will not be very good this week. It's been very cold, and most of the ice and snow is still around, so I don't think your Mom will have a very easy time running when she comes to DC. We think that rain is expected Tuesday and Wednesday and it will be a cold rain. Mom and Dad want to go for a little hike at the Manassas Battlefield tomorrow, but they will wear their heavy duty hiking boots because they know it will be slippery.

We hope that your mom will enjoy her DC visit despite the weather.
