I got tagged! My good friends Miss Sara, Phoebe, and Skeeter and LC (and I hope by no one else that I'm forgetting) tagged me for the "Seven Random Facts About Me" meme (thanks!).
The rules: Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write on their own blog about the seven things and the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your blog!
1. Mom always puts a glass of water for me on the nightstand for me to drink at night. She has to hide her water in the headboard or I'd drink it too! I really love it with ice.
2. I always have to know where Mom is at. Dad sometimes, but not always like Mom.
3. When Mom gets home from work, after I greet her and get scritches, I always beg to go out in my harness.
4. I always wake Mom and Dad up at 6 am. I lay on top of Mom and purr as loud as I can.
5. Since I got my great Millie bed, I don't always sleep with Mom and Dad, but it is placed where I can see them either in the bedroom or down in the family room.
6. I only like Salmon Fancy Feast with Bumble Bee Salmon cup mixed in for wet food, and I always get some after my walk. I eat Evo dry. I'm not totally grain free because I just can't give up my Temptations!
7. I love live music of just about any kind, fiddle, guitar, whistle. I always run to it when someone is playing!
I'm so behind on this meme I can't believe there is anyone left to tag, so I tag anyone left!

PhotoHunt: Five

The PhotoHunt theme this week is Five. So, I wanted to show five of my favorite toys. But I have a lot of great toys, and it was really hard to choose. I finally settled on these, mainly 'cause Mom had good pictures of them.
This is a really cool tarantuala. It actually moves and walks. I think Mom has something to do with it, 'cause she is always holding this thing that has a long wire attached to, but she swears she is not doing anything.
This is a furry mouse. I love throwing it around and batting it up the stairs.
This is my great track mouse toy. It has a furry mouse in there that goes around and around in circles! I can never catch the darn thing. Mom got it for me when she decided I needed more exercise 'cause Dad called me "toady".
This is my hands down favorite toy, my crinkle tube. It has a great hole in the top that I can dive into. You can see a video of my doing this here.
My purple feather is really great. I love grabbing it and yanking out the feathers with my teeth.I have lots of other great toys, like my coyote, my box, and my green mousee. But these are five really good ones.
Fashion Friday
Mom was feeling so bad about ignoring me the other night, she bought me this exquisite delicately tie-dyed and appliquied tee, in purple and blue. It is a perfect princess meezer outfit, and even comes with a finished opening for my harness.

Its getting a little warm for my cute clothes during our walks, so I like to periodically rest on the cool grass and survey my domain. Even though it is getting warm, I love dressing up to go out, and really expect it and almost feel naked if I don't have something on. Hopefully, Mom can find some light tees for summer.

The Blue Fog
Mom's been feeling blue all week. She tried to explain to me that it is something humans go through sometime, but at first I didn't really understand. And I'm afraid maybe I didn't help too much. As I go through my teenage stage, I'm not quite the same, loveable kitten I used to be. I'm flexing my independent muscles a bit more. Maybe I'll grow out of it, but Mom's not sure. I still follow Mom around everywhere. I love being picked up and held over her shoulder, and cradled getting my tummy scratched. And I still wake her and Dad up every morning snuggling and purring in their face. But I don't like sitting on her lap for very long. A little bit, especially when getting good ear scritches, but I used to stay on her lap for hours. And while I still usually sleep on the bed at night (although sometimes I sleep in my Millie bed, which I love), I usually sleep at her feet, instead of cuddling up at her side. But, I love putting on cute clothes and going for walks to show off my looks in the cul-de-sac, and REALLY love playing with Mom or Dad, I could do that all day! But I don't think that was enough this week. And one night, when Mom was having a hard night, her and Dad IGNORED me all night! And then the next morning, they left for work without even saying good bye! Now, being the sensitive meezer I am, I got really depressed. I didn't eat much, didn't want to play, and was really sad. I actually knew exactly how Mom was feeling, I understood. Seeing me so depressed shocked both Mom and Dad, and helped lessen her mood some. I was SO happy to get my usually attention! The last few days I have given Mom some extra love, and she has really appreciated it. And I got some extra love as well, although I expect it......

Off for a bit...
Mom and I are in the midst of a minor personal crisis. Nothing to worry about, but we won't be posting for a little while. We will probably still make it around to our friends blogs, but may not be leaving as many comments as usual. Hopefully we will be back around the end of the week. Love you all. Tara

PhotoHunt: Childhood

This weeks PhotoHunt theme is Childhood. Well, I didn't really have a childhood, and Mom has no human children, so I'll guess I'll have to do kittenhood. Here are some pictures of me at 12 weeks old, the first week my human parents brought me home...

I probably didn't weigh 2 pounds at the time. Its hard to believe I'm working on my ninth month, and I'm 9 pounds now! But I'm still in my child...er...kittenhood, and still love to play...
Now, three of my best friends are still in their childhood. They often join me when I go out for walks in the cul-de-sac in my harness. Brook is in the middle, she lives up the street and rides a really cool pink bike, and Sammy, her black cat, is another of my best friends. Marrissa (on Brook's right), and Deseri are sisters and live across the street from Brook.
They all love walking with me.......
Fashion Friday: Bridesmaids Dresses
Update: Boy, I almost really blew it! I forgot that this dress was Chey's favorite! Thank you Gemini for reminding me! It does really show off my eyes doesn't it?

But I do still really like the dresses below, so I'll probably buy one or two of them for either the party on Sunday, or as a backup for later on Saturday night (you know how crazy wedding parties are!). So I'd still like your opinion. Interestingly, of those that like #2, they are almost all mancats! #1 gets most of the ladies votes (followed by#4), and some of the mancats. I think #2 makes a girl look vulnerable, and the boys like that, where as #1 says sophistication and moxy, so it speaks to most of the girls (and maybe threatens the boys???). Just guessin', mind you.
This is a one-piece, floor length strapless, Ann Taylor Celebration made of silk and featuring a natural waist and an A-line silhouette. It comes in brown, blue, black and green. I think the brown with the ivory waist really compliments my coloring, and is my current favorite.
This is a Bill Levkoff European satin strapless gown. It has embroidered cummerbund accents the natural waist and loops in the back forming long tails. The A-line skirt is tea length with a slight back train. It is available in purple, gray, brown, blue, metallic, yellow, black, green, white, ivory, red, multi-colored, and pink; solid or any two-town combination. I’m not sure I like the gathering at the hem line.
This is a one-piece, floor length, dress by B2 made of taffeta, and featuring spaghetti straps and a natural waist. It comes in purple, blue, yellow, green, white, red and pink. I particularly like the gathering within the skirt.
This is a one-piece, floor length, strapless dress also by B2 in taffeta, featuring a natural waist and a sheath silhouette. It comes in purple, blue, yellow, green, white, red and pink. I think this shade of green is very flattering, and its elegant simplicity makes it my second favorite.

Thursday Thirteen: Reasons to send a post card

As I've talked about here, and as reported on the Cat Blogosphere and elsewhere, the pet food recall seems like it will never end. Artsy Catsy is urging all kitties and woofies and their humans to join the May 3 Postcards from Endangered Pets blitz! Here are thirteen reasons why Mom is participating:
1. She has spent well over $100 trying different foods and discarding purchased foods due to uncertainty over their safety
2. She has spent hours and hours (probably days and days) at this point keeping up with the recall news
3. She has spent an equal amount of time researching food and trying to decide what is safe
4. Every time I yak up a crane fly, she thinks it might be the food
5. Every time I take a nap, she worries I might be lethargic due to the food
6. She is going cross eyed trying to read the tiny ingredient print
7. At this point, she doesn't trust any grain at all, even though it may rule out some perfectly healthy food, and means I might not get any more Temptations!
8. She has completely lost her trust in the pet food industry
9. She doesn't trust anything from China, even though she loves Chinese food
10. She is scrutinzing her bean food, worrying about any vegetable protein
11. She cries when she thinks of all the innocent fur babies that have died or are sick because of food that should have been trusted
12. She would rather spend her time looking for cute clothes and great toys for me
13. She would rather spend her money on these things as well
So please join in the post card blitz. Hopefully the FDA and our senators will listen. We deserve healthy, nutritous food we can trust.

Tuckered Tummy Tickled Tuesday
Whew, between the march for keep our pets safe, the Sunday stroll, the vigil for VT, getting more angry over the pet food recall explosion (now FDA is detaining ALL vegetable protein from China, including Wheat Gluten, Rice Gluten, Rice Protein, Rice Protein Concentrate, Corn Gluten, Corn Gluten Meal, Corn By-Products, Soy Protein, Soy Gluten, Proteins which includes amino acids and protein hydrosylates, and Mung Bean Protein. Check out Itchmo and USA Today for more details), and some serious play time with my orange feather toy (great stress relief), I got wore out!!

(a little tummy flash...)

Yessh, go away with that flashy box Mom!
And with all that going on and worrying about our sick friends, I didn't even know that Princess Mia featured me on Female Feline Friday not this past Friday, but TWO Fridays ago! I was tickled pink to be featured, but very embarrassed to have missed it. Thanks Princess Mia!
