Thinking of our friends....

Its been a hard month with all the recalls and the loss and sickness of our friends. Lots of information on the Cat Blogosphere on the recalls and current links, and today is the Keep our Pets Safe nationwide march. I'm joining virtually, I hope you will too.

UPDATE: Artsty Catsy has reminded me that there are far more victims than shown on my banner. They are joining a post card blitz, urging everyone impacted by this terrible recall to send a post card TODAY to the FDA and their senators. See their blog for more details.

Tara, you are right. This should not have happened. And now every day I wonder when it will ever end.

Tara, we hope you'll urge everyone who has a pet that was sickened, or worse, by the tainted pet food to join today's "My Pet Counts!" postard blitz. We need to speak out because the FDA and the media continue to report that only 16-17 pets have been affected. There's far more than that on your "We Are the Victims" banner!

Postcards must be mailed TODAY and we have mailing addresses posted on ArtsyCatsy.blogspot.com

Tara

We feel exactly the same way. Everyday we do our research and nearly everyday we find MORE food being recalled.

My Mom thinks that the Chinese were only 'testing' pet food to find out how quickly the government would find tainted food, because they may want to actually poison human food. As it stands now, it looks like some of the tainted pet food was fed to other animals like pigs which in turn have been sold for human consumption. It is really scary to think that the FDA is so powerless that they cannot RECALL FOOD only things like tires.

*sigh*

Mom get off your soap box...

Good point Tara. Was this a test or just greed.

It should never have happened, the whole thing was a needless tragedy. I sincerely hope it is never repeated.
