Mom and Dad are both gone. For having the unmitigated gall to leave me home alone, here are thirteen things I plan to do while they can't see me
1. Use mom's chair as my telelporter over to all my bloggie friends
2. Climb high up the blinds to get a better view of the cul-de-sac
3. Help with the process of universal entropy by making sure everything on a high flat surface is now on the floor (the lowest energy state)
4. Play with my dry kibble until I get most of it under the rug in the human litterbox room right in front of the sink, so when they stand on it, the kibble is crushed to dust (helping entropy again)
5. Kick my water while playing with the kibble, so that what didn't make it under the rug turns into a goppy glop on the floor that again, can be stepped in
6. Use the litter box, then walk on the kitchen table so the table cloth can clean my paws
7. Knock over the old floor lamp so they have an excuse to buy a new one, and continue helping entropy
8. Climb up the ficus to keep my claws in shape
9. Open the mail stacked up on the dinning room table to make sure one of my friends didn't send me something
10. Check out Mom's jewlry for something I might want to wear
11. Watch American Idol
12. Sharpen my claws on the waterbed
13. Hide all the pens and pencils in my favorite hiding spot (I'm not telling)

Worried Wednesday
Mom and Dad are BOTH going to be gone tonight! Was it something I said? The car ride home from the mountain house on Monday? Am I gonna starve? I've never spent a night alone before. I'm teleporting over to Mr. Hendrix's.

Tummy Tuesday

Ahhh...this is one of the things I loved about our mountain house, long afternoon naps in my favorite chair. Mom and Dad are each napping on their own futon. I usually start here, then end up over with Mom. Why did we have to leave.....
But it is good to be home, after eleventy-two-million years in the green moving box. Not only did I got through my five step process, I went through my fifteen step process, which is five steps repeated three times (first complain loudly, go through all the rest of the steps, finally settle down, then repeat, complain loudly....) Mom can't believe I'm the same kitten that used to sleep on her lap all the way up to and back from the moutain house. Well, hey, I'm a teenager now, and I'm telling you, this ain't as much fun as it used to be! Now, I wasn't really that bad, but I was wearing myself out. So Mom put me in the PTU for the last little bit. I didn't like it, but I did settle down and almost fell asleep. Mom's threatening to take Riley and Tiki's advice and take me for a drive every week, so I get more used to it. Every week! Hmm...well, maybe if she gave me temptations afterwards.
Missing Meezer Monday

Is it really time to get back into the green moving box already? Can't we just stay here at the mountain house? Its big and open, with lots of room to play and run. You and Dad are home all the time, and we can patrol the big back yard with lots of bugs, and take long afternoon naps together. You can give me tuna and salmon and I promise not to barf it up on the kitchen floor. And I promise not to spill your water when I drink out of your glass. Can't you and Dad call in sick to work, for like, forever? Do I really need to go through that five step process again already?

Happy Spotty Easter Sunday
I did make it to the mountain house on Friday. Getting here, however, means I have to go through this five step process: 1) Denial-No, I don't want in the box, I want to keep patroling the yard, no, don't put me in the box....(this step goes on for about the first 10 minutes as we go down the road), 2) Barter-if you let me out of this box, I'll stop whining and crying and trying to walk over Dad's eyeballs as he drives (this step can last from anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour), 3) Disbelief-Mom, why are you doing this to me? Was I a bad kitty? (as I whine going back and forth from Mom's lap to the middle console between Mom and Dad that Dad put a nice carpet square on for me, this step lasts about an hour), and finally, 4) Resignation-I'm never getting out of this big green moving box, I might as well try to sleep, even though everytime I doze off , Dad goes around another corner, throwing me off balace (this step usually last the final hour). Update: oops, OK, so I can't count, 5) Getting excited as we drive up the drive way, because I recognize the mountain house, and I know I'm getting out SOOON! Mom's hoping each time we go, I'll get to step 4 faster, but we will see.....But I do love the mountain house! I spent all night Friday going around and checking out the smells, and making sure the house was fine. Then yesterday I got to do the same with the backyard. Now, the backyard is, eh, "natural". Mom's trying to let it go back to the Great Basin Scrub that surrounds the house. Right now, however, its just looks spotty, cause its filled with weeds!
As I made my patrols, you could see the spots at the base of my ears on top of my head. Mom calls those birds eyes, and tells me I need to be carefull out, as the jays, and magpies, and eagles and hawks will use those to dive bomb me!
Then I had to check out the spotty rocks near a pallet of stepping stones Mom didn't use when she laid some through the, eh, "natural" backyard.
Happy Easter to all the kitties and their humans who celebrate it! And to those who don't, its still a great time to spend with family and friends, remebering what is important in life! Like yards to patrol, and humans to love (cause there is a reason they put you in that moving box!)PS Mom's on dialup while here at the moutain house, so she is sorry she hasn't been able to help me get around to visit everyone that much, it is just SOOO slow!

Photo Hunt 52: Clean
Fabulous Friday!
So I was sitting in the front room yesterday, waiting for Mom and Dad to come home. I heard a strange sound, like someone coming up to the door. I thought it was Mom and Dad, so I got excited, but I just heard a thud and then steps away....so I waited and waited...then, Mom and Dad finally came home, and they brought in this box...
Of course, the box was pretty neat, but what was in it was even better.... a Millie Bed! It looks blue here, but it is really purple! And of course you know what purple is (hint..the color of royalty). Latte sent it to me! What a great adopted dad!
It is soo neat. First I had to sniff it and check it out..
Then I started kneading it...
Then I really made biscuts....
And finally, a major snuggle...
What a great bed! Mom is going to put it up in the corner of the balcony. It overlooks the family room, and I can see the bedroom. Usually, I tuck Mom into bed, the sit on the balcony a little bit if Dad is snoozing down on the couch, so I can watch him. I then go into the bedroom and snuggle with Mom on the bed. Of course, if this Millie bed is really great, I may not make it into the bedroom.....
Thanks Latte!
And we are heading up to our Mountain house today! Mom and Dad have Monday off for spring break, and so took Friday off. I love the mountain house, but don't like the drive too much. Maybe it will go better this time...

Thursday Thirteen: Balance
There is a meme going around about how one achieves balance. I thought I'd post thirteen reasons why balance is important:
1. Its a long way down from the balcony to the floor....
2. You can't play all the time, you need to eat...
3. But, if you ate all the time, you would be too fat to play....
4. And work is just that, work, but sometimes necessary to get to the food and play...
5. Napping is highly undervalued, but you would get awfully skinny if you didn't wake up once in a while and eat...
6. If you had only one toy, it would wear out fast, so you need more than one...
7. But too many, you couldn't decide which one to play with, and try to play with all of them all at once, this would make you too hungry, which would make you eat to much....
8. Morning cuddles in the bed are great, but you can't stay too long, cause its time to eat...
9. But if you get out of bed too early, Mom will forget about you and go back to sleep, meaning nothing to eat, so...
10. Sometimes you need to play in the bed, which usually gets Mom out to give you something to eat...
11. And even when you get something to eat in morning, you may want to get Mom to play with you first, cause she is probably going to leave for work, you can eat after she leaves....
12. Give Mom just enough love when she gets home so she feels sorry for you, and gives you something to eat, especially Temptations...
13. Bottom line, its important to balance working, eating, playing and napping, and all should be done in the context of LOVE

Wonderful Wednesday
Oh I love spring! Mom came home yesterday, and my little girl friends ran up to her and asked "Are you walking Tara today?" I was looking out the window waiting for Mom to take me out.
These are my friends, Marrisa, Deserie, and Brook. They ride around on their wheeled toys talking to Mom and I as I do my patrols.
Then, this fire breathing dragon toy came up. Marissa yelled "I love you Dad", and they started following him around in a circle. At first I was afraid for the girls, I thought the dragon would cast a spell and led my girls away! Mom lafed and said it was a HOG! Like the weaner dogs? I'm confused!!
So I decided to take Mom into our backyard. And guess what, new flowers! Irises, almost as pretty as Princess Iris!
Some white ones fell down, so I had to check them out, they smelled so great!
